Easy method to test if your piece is 925 sterling silver. 

4. The Rubbing Test 

Use a soft cloth to rub your piece and then check the surface. If there are black marks on the cloth, this is a genuine sterling silver piece because Real silver oxidizes on exposure to the air and hence the tarnish left on the cloth.

925 sterling silver aftercare:

It is better to wash your silver by hand in hot, sudsy water as soon as possible after use. Rinse well in clear hot water and hand-dry immediately and thoroughly. For silver that is tarnished, clean with a good quality silver polish and avoid "dip" polishes.
